Forgotten
And when the next
generation asks us
who we were,
we won’t be honest.The truth is,
we’re better off
forgotten.

like children
When we first met I did not hesitate.
I held you by your hand, in the sun,
looked up at you and smiled.
We were like children,
simple.When I first loved you, I did not hesitate.
I held you in my arms and spoke,
told you everything I felt.
We were like children,
soft.When you then left me, I did not hesitate.
I held your memory in my sleep,
kept it locked away and safe.
I, the child left behind.
And what of you?
Gone.

"
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.Living one day at a time;
"
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
